The Shetland Islands.

Arrived this morning in Lerwick town on the Shetland Islands.  We went around to see the local scenery.
There is a stronger Norse tradition than Scottish
. So, it is like visiting a different country even though it is part of Scotland.

We went to the ancient ruins of Jarlhof. The site covers an extensive time period from 2500 BC to 850 BC when the Norse arrived.
