4 Months and Counting

What started out as a small shower tile update, in the master bathroom, it turned into a 4 month project.  First, it was the great "supply chain problem" and everything we ordered seemed to be on a slow boat from Europe. Marble tiles could not be found to match or they were flawed in some way.  Finally, the marble arrived and they were beginning to be installed, then there was not enough marble to finish the job. The glass doors that were to be saved from the old shower and used in the new shower did not work, the contractor thought there would be more play in the metal frame. We had to replace both panes of glass.  Then the contractor quit.  I guess he figured after receiving a 50% deposit he was going to be upside down on the second part of the job. Especially when he found out that he had mis-measured the vanity, with sink and faucet it would not fit under the existing mirror. We had to reorder a new smaller sink and remake the vanity counter top. The plumbing fixtures and glass door will be installed while we're out of town.  What started when we were going out of town will hopefully end now while we are out of town.
